I got a Job!

Today I received an email with a job offer to be a lifeguard/swim instructor at Tocaloma Day Camp. I have been looking into this job for a few months now and after two interviews I am so happy to see God answer my prayers.

Something I have been working on all year is letting God take control of my life, as being controlling is a strong weakness of mine. To see God comfortably take control of my life and provide for me through getting me a job is eye-opening and mind-blowing. If you are struggling with this too, I encourage you to take a moment right now and pray for God to take control of your life. God will never cease to amaze me and I couldn't dare be so selfish as to keep this secret to myself!

Logistics of this Job

I will be working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday from 8:15am-3:45pm. I will be doing a mixture of lifeguarding and teaching small group swim lessons. Of course, since this is a day camp, I will also have the opportunity to get crazy with dress up days, talent shows, and the all staff karaoke contest. I love swimming and I love children, so it's safe to say that I am excited for this summer. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me while I work there. I look forward to building relationships with my co-workers and doing my best to reflect Christ in my behavior. I want my co-workers to see something different in me -- something that will stir up a desire in them for God.

This camp is about a 20 minute drive from where I will be staying this summer. I am hopeful that other students on my project will also have a job at Tocaloma as well so that we will be able to carpool.

Closing Remarks

I am amazed with how God has carried me through everything this semester and how everything has happened in His timing. Thank you all for your constant support and prayers. It really means a lot. Not much else has happened that requires an update to you all, but I plan to post again once it gets closer to the date of summer project: June 14.

As of today, the countdown is 56 days!
